As you did not indicate where you are from or how far afield you would be prepared to travel, I just give you my suggestions of places I know personally very well.

As a matter of fact, I will be leaving on Saturday to go back to the Philippines, this time for four glorious weeks of fantastic weather, beaches and food.

You will notice that both places I recommend are located near Davao, Southern Mindanao, Philippines. This is about an hour flight from Manila, but it has several advantages. One, despite some rumours, this area is perfectly safe for “westerners” to visit. Second, it is protected by the 3500m high Mount Apo, which ensures that you will not have any problems with Typhoons.

As I did say at the beginning, I personally know both of them places and if you don't mind to travel the extra distance, it's well worth it !!
